But Where Are You Really From?

Third culture kids (TCK) are kids that are raised in cultures other than their parents' or the culture of their country of nationality for a significant part of their developmental years. Growing up as a TCK and moving to 5 different countries in my lifetime, I have often been asked “..but where are you really from?” and while this may seem like an innocent question, it can mean a thousand different things to a person that has grown up in between worlds. The book goes through the thought process of a TCK trying to answer this question, bringing up questions of identity, culture, familial ties and societal pressure.
