The Brief
To create an companion app for a made up smart device with innovative data visualization.

The Solution
The proposed smart device would be a headphone set that includes sensors which measure brainwave activity safely and non invasively. It would send that data to your phone through bluetooth and recommend music based your brain activity. Based on the recorded alpha, beta, theta and delta waves, the app would determine what to play next based on a user’s desired outcome. It would link to the user’s music streaming service and would chart their brain activity when listening to their own music and playlists to create playlists to help them in any situation.

The on-boarding is quite simple, it takes the user through a series of screens that guides them trough understanding how to read their main chart, what each brainwave means in terms of real world application and their timeline.

The dashboard shows you your previous readings for the last 30 days as well as your current reading. It is where the user can access the onboarding and create a new session.

Sessions will record your brainwaves actively and shows the user data for that specific time frame. When the user completes the session, a report is produced and they are able to scrub through the time they spent listening to music to find out where they were their highest and lowest in specific brainwaves. It also generates playlists based off of this data and gives you an overall view of their brian activity during the session.

These screens depict how the user would add a new playlist and use the suggestions generated by the app. When adding a new song, the visualisation will give a rough estimate of the brainwave/area you are more likely be in when listening to the playlist.
