Photography: Daniel EhrenworthCommissioned by Canada Post, this stamp celebrates Diwali, one of the most widely observed festivals in India and around the world. The design draws inspiration from vernacular Indian typography and the tradition of rangoli—intricate, temporary artworks created during Diwali celebrations. At the heart of the stamp is an original illustrated rangoli pattern, developed to capture the vibrancy, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of the festival while translating these traditions into a contemporary visual form.
